Hi everyone,

Got hit with a 3mm stone last week. Technically only my 2nd one, but the first was 20 years back and in another country.

Went to the ER and they sent me home with Flomax and Ibuprofen. A few days of brutal pain later, I saw a urologist and he switched me over to Toradol.

Been on it for 3 days now. The pain has eased up, but now I've got diarrhea.

I went online to check if that's a normal side effect and found out you're not supposed to take Toradol for more than 5 days or you're risking some pretty scary stuff...

Honestly I have no idea what to do from here.

How long did your stone take to pass, and how did you handle the pain the whole time?

Thanks!

I didn't end up needing any painkillers , mine was uncomfortable, but I could deal with it

Every kidney stone I've had came with diarrhea, whether I was on toradol or not. My doctor thinks it might just be the stress. I'd love to hear if anyone else has gone through this. Give your doctor a call if it's worrying you. I'm not a fan of pain meds of any kind, so I only took toradol once my pain hit 7+. Last time I got Valium, and it barely took the edge off, so I kept that limited too. To me, flomax does the most for actually moving the stone along.

Also, my longest stone took three months to pass. The quickest one was three days.
