Advice for my first kidney stone

Hi, I’m a 22-year-old woman and I just got my first kidney stone. I found out four days ago in the ER after having pain and blood in my urine. Then yesterday I ended up back in the ER because of the pain—I was throwing up every time I drank anything or did anything at all.
Long story short, they sent me home with more pain meds, and I’m on Flomax or whatever it’s called to widen, you know.
At the ER yesterday they did another scan and said my stone hasn’t moved in two days :( Please, any advice—I need this thing out of me. I’m in pain and so done with peeing blood :(

Stone Fighter #761060May 11, 2026Did they tell you how big the stone is, in mm? I’m so sorry—mine was small and I passed it pretty quickly, but the pain was still awful. I’m a 21M and luckily got mine out (or at least part of it, I think). Take your meds exactly as prescribed. Ketorolac/Toradol helped me immensely—if you’re not already on it, maybe ask your doctor about it. I’ve also heard that once you pass it, you should bring a sample to a urologist. Stone Fighter #761060May 11, 2026Drink enough water that your pee turns light yellow or clear, and that Flomax should help relax the ureter and get it moving. If the pain starts easing up, it’s probably already in your bladder (I’m not a doctor, so I don’t know for sure)—and the worst part is over. I’m truly sorry; mine was only 2mm and it hurt a lot, so I can only imagine what you’re going through. You’re really strong and you’ve got this! If anything feels off, don’t hesitate to go back in! Are the pain meds helping at all?
