Thankful for my kidney stones

Hear me out.

Originally I went to the doctor for pains on my left side. After a CT, they find really big kidney stones causing the pain. They also see something is wrong with my appendix on the right. No pain or discomfort, just something on the CT.

They do another CT and find a mass growing outside my appendix usually caused by a benign tumor in the appendix. No worries but has to come out.

3/23 - kidney stone surgery and my awesome doctor determines I don’t need a stent.

And good thing cause 7 days later on 3/30 I get my appendix yeeted.

It was a lot in a short time (and my first surgeries ever), but all went smooth. No surprises until…

The pathology report on the tumor growing in my appendix just came back yesterday. Malignant. They got it all and no signs of cancer in the surrounding tissue. There will be follow ups and future scans, but it looks good.

Without those kidney stones causing enough pain to send me to the doctor, that tumor would still be in me & growing.
