My first kidney stones..turns out small

So I had a CT as a follow up for a whole separate post-cancersurgery-surveillance thing (yay no return of tumours) but it spotted two small 3mm and 4mm kidney stones. Non obstructive I think it said?
I havent been contacted by anyone yet, I guess I'm going to call my GP tomorrow but after opening this sub I'm a bit terrified
I was reading that it isnt always extremely painful, but it feels like that might just be google sugarcoating things a bit.
Any advice? Aside from drinking a shit ton of water and avoiding too much salt and alcohol? Lol

Congratulations on the post cancer surveillance coming back clear. As for the stones, incidental stones are very very common on imaging done for other conditions. Just because they are there doesn’t mean they need removal, much like gallstones. You may have had them for a long time, and if it was decided that they needed removal then it would be a very easy procedure, probably a lot easier than what you’ve previously been through! Understandably, the people who post in this sub are often ...
Yeah... stumbling on stones during a scan you weren't even looking for is its own special kind of panic. Pain varies wildly -- some people pass small ones with barely a blip, while others feel every millimeter. Seeing your GP is the right move, but don't let the worst-case stories online live in your head rent-free. Hydration is huge, yeah, but your doctor can tell you what else makes sense for your situation.
