Klebsiella

I’ve been testing positive for klebsiella UTI literally every single time since 2019. Recurrent UTI’s back to back this entire time. I have been prescribed every antibiotic known to man. It never goes away. I’ve recently had PCNL to remove a 4cm staghorn stone and 9mm stone. Left kidney is stone free. They did another culture after a few weeks from the surgery and it still tests positive. I was hopeful that the stones being removed would’ve solved the problem.. now I fear it will never go away. I’m so tired of being sick and having these problems. I have three chronic illnesses and I really just don’t need these issues right now. :(

I’m so sorry. This is my fear too. Klebsiella is what I have tested positive for since 2020. It just doesn’t end. I’m having PCNL in a few weeks too for three large stones. This is exhausting! I wish I knew how to make it stop.

Me too. I wish I knew how to make it leave my body for good. I hope your surgery goes well. Will you have a nephrostomy tube? I had one for 24 hrs after surgery. I stayed in the hospital, they took it out before discharge. Don’t be afraid to ask for pain meds. :)

I will have the tube for 24hrs too and will be there overnight. I loathe being in the hospital and I just was admitted several weeks ago due to UTI/kidney stones. Not looking forward to it. I cannot shake this stupid bacteria. It’s making me feel insane.
