28 f - first time having a kidney stone.

Symptoms started about a week ago (back pain, blood in urine, urgency to pee) I was misdiagnosed with a UTI, when pain got worse & antibiotics did nothing, I went to the ER with horrible pain (4 days ago).. low and behold they found a mildly impacted 6mm stone in my ureter.

I’ve taken 3 doses of Flomax, after dinner between 6-7. I’ve found little relief but today I’m having no luck peeing AT ALL with constant pressure. Could my stone have gotten more stuck?

Any advice?

Flowmax wont make pain go away. Keep taking it though. It helps reduce the inflammation. Also a 6mm stone is quite large and may take a while to pass.

Yeah, I’ve been taking some pain meds they gave me (500mg naproxen) which has helped some. They just told me the Flomax was supposed to “open” the ureter a bit and wasn’t sure if it was abnormal for it to still be blocked up

It helps but its not a cure. It reduces inflammation mostly but its not going to make the ureter open like a dam
