First time posting! I've been lucky enough to have recurring kidney stones since I was 18, and I'm 31 now. This is my 11th stone and honestly the absolute worst one yet. I dealt with side pain on and off for a few weeks, but I convinced myself it was gas or something because it didn't feel the way it "normally" feels. Finally I woke up one Saturday and realized, damn, this still hurts, so my wife drove me to the ER.
Fast forward an hour or two and I've got a CT done. First thing my doctor says after getting the results is "... so you have a very LARGE stone." They estimated the stone at 14-17mm. Next thing I know, I'm transferred to another hospital, where they put in a stent the next morning and scheduled a follow-up lithotripsy a month later (April 30th). I'm dealing with the 2nd stent now, which sucks, but man, it beats having THAT monster inside me 🤣

Stone Fighter #1D3B29May 12, 2026That first stent, before my lithotripsy, was honestly horrible. Any time I was standing I had a constant need to pee. And when I actually had to go? God help me make it to the bathroom in time. My bladder was fighting the stent nonstop, and the giant stone pressing on it didn't help at all. My current stent is way more easygoing. I've got some sand left over from the lithotripsy, so pushing that out isn't pleasant, but I barely notice the stent until I really have to go lol
