ugh my back hurts so bad. i had a ureteroscopy march 9th that removed 6 stones, 3 each side. is it possible to have developed new stones so quickly? i make calcium oxalate stones

Stone Fighter #28C522Apr 23, 2026Honestly I've never asked how long it takes to make a stone. I suppose we're all different, so it depends on the person. But unless your diet is horrendous, I don't think 5 weeks is long enough. I've never had a doctor confirm it, but I personally suspect that stones can kinda hide and be difficult to see with imaging lower than MRI.
Stone Fighter #F62B8EApr 23, 2026Many people are still tender after surgery, things must heal. You have had a bilateral ureteroscopy. Nothing is impossible though and laser is a not a guarantee then removed all the little fragments. But I will not freak out that quickly
Stone Fighter #C16081Apr 24, 2026Woof, six stones in one surgery means your urine's still supersaturated even after removal. Back pain that fast could be new stone formation or residual inflammation from the procedure itself -- ureteroscopy can irritate things for weeks. Did your urologist give you specific prevention instructions after, or did you get discharged with basically nothing?
