Kidney Stones & Creatine: Should I Take It?
- Strategy
- Patient journey
Hey guys,
I've dealt with kidney stones before, so I'm not sure if I can take creatine or not. Been hitting the gym for a few months now, and it seems like everyone loves creatine and gets great results from it, which got me thinking about trying it..but my history of stones is holding me back. Would really appreciate some guidance.
Thanks

My doctor told me not to take creatine. Best to check with your own doctor. Otherwise you could get a Renal function test, start creatine, then test again after 3 months and decide based on the newer results.
There are so many tests...I post a question in this sub and it's always some test I've never even heard of 😭
I've been taking Whey Protein instead of Creatine for a few months now and haven't had any kidney issues
