Has anyone passed a 5-6mm kidney stone without knowing?

I was diagnosed with a 5-6mm distal kidney stone on 2/2. I was sent home with Flomax and pain meds and advised to drink 3 liters of water daily to try and pass the stone on my own before surgery on 3/19.
On 3/3 I went in for labs for the procedure and also had another CT scan. The scanned showed that the kidney stone was in the dependent portion of the urinary bladder on the right near ureteral orifice, so my Urologist called and canceled my surgery because he figured I would pass the stone on my own. He scheduled me for an X-ray and Ultrasound on 4/7.
Yesterday I got an US and X-Ray and the results stated “Symmetric normal kidney size. No hydronephrosis. No renal calculus and No abnormal calcifications in the abdomen/pelvis to suggest stone”. I have another appt with my Urologist next week to discuss a plan on monitoring my kidneys and the results.
Based on the results, it appears that I may have passed the stone. But I am questioning the results/reading because I didn’t have any pain or weird feeling when urinating. I don’t feel any significant changes in how I feel. I stopped taking pain meds before my CT scan on 3/3. I’m bummed because I really wanted to capture the little fucker to get it tested. I was straining my urine, but I will admit that I didn’t do it 100% of the time. From other post it seems like people feel when it’s passing or hear the little sound in the toilet. I guess i just wish I knew the moment it happened.
Has this happened to anyone else?

Stone Fighter #55983EApr 8, 2026Not to jinx myself, I was in the ER two weeks ago for extreme flank pain, told me it was a 6mm stone to follow up with a urologist to see if it passes on its own. Gave me flomax, toradol, and some Norco. Was painful for a few days, but like I've been pain free for like three days now, so good chance I passed it and didn't know.

After the first 8-9 days of almost constant agony, I had almost no pain aside from two instances where the pain came back. I kept wondering if I’d passed it without realizing.
