First-time stone. Blood but zero pain, and I'm out of town till the weekend. Ride it out and hope for the best?

Hey everyone! Hoping for some advice from people who've been through this before.

I'm in a totally different state, clear across the country for work. Just landed yesterday and noticed blood in my pee, so I went to the ER. After a scan they told me I've got a 5mm kidney stone moving through my ureter.

No pain or symptoms at all besides the blood. The ER doctor seemed pretty shocked by that. They gave me some Flomax and sent me on my way. Right now I'm back at work feeling fine. My pee is still pink.

I've been scrolling through this subreddit reading about different experiences and Flomax side effects.

I'm thinking I'll hold off on the Flomax unless things get bad, drink a shit ton of fluids, cross my fingers and hope for the best. My flight home isn't until Friday morning.

Is that a horribly stupid idea? Any tips or advice?

I don’t think it’s a bad idea. I had side effects from the Flomax. Plus there was a study showing that people who take Flomax can get this floppy eye condition (permanent). So down the road, if you get cataracts, the doctor can’t do the procedure. That’s the kind of thing I’ve never once heard a doctor warn you about.
