Got an 11mm stone and stringy blood

- Patient journey
Last Thursday i had some mild flank pain so i visited my pcp and they ordered an Ultrasound..friday noon the results came back showing an 11 mm right renal calculus. Still no follow up calls since its a long weekend and the doctors offices stay closed till tomorrow. This morning some string like blood came oit while i was peeing. Other than that no pain so far. Feeling a but panicky but i read this is pretty common with stones. Does this warrant a trip to the ER? My fear is they'll glance at the report and just send me back home since i am in no pain.

Blood in the urine is expected here, so try not to panic about it. No point heading to the ER unless you get severe pain or a fever, they'll just send you home. They might hand you flomax and that's about it. You'll need a CT-KUB to measure the stone's actual size so they can put together a plan, ultrasounds are pretty inaccurate. And of course you'll need a referral to a urologist. Stay well hydrated. Good luck.
Thanks, would they run a ct-kub at the er? I'm getting chills so wondering if its the start of an infection
If you're running a fever then it's worth getting checked out at the ER, they'll draw bloods, test your urine and culture it if needed, and they may well do a CT-KUB. Most likely they'll refer you on to a urologist.
