is this how a kidney stone usually starts or am I overthinking it?

I had a nagging lower back pain for months . Like it was just annoying as hell, but I assumed it was from being a mechanic all day. One day I fell off a ladder, it went from nagging to really uncomfortable, I assumed injury, they found an 11mm biggun. Moral of the story, that dull ache could be something, but I’ve also been chilling and feeling fine and then in seconds keeled over pleading to god for mercy.

Everyone has different symptoms. For me, I haven’t had visible blood in the urine. I have had two stones and for me the tell is what feels like horrible cramping that starts in my stomach, goes to my groin, and then spreads around to my back. Does the ache improve or get worse based on the position you lay in or how you bend your back? If the pain changes from moving, it’s likely muscular and not a stone. For me, I get kidney soreness and twinges and aches every so often. It normally helps when I pick up on my water intake and drink a ton of lemonade. Normally the soreness goes away. Sometimes it’s just soreness, sometimes it’s a sharp pain that fades, and sometimes it’s just really uncomfortable and I use a heating pad and it’ll go away. I hate my kidneys.
