We're in the same boat! Lol! I've had a 5-6 mm stone (per CT scan) for 2 and a half months now! My first pain episode was me vomiting 6 times in the ambulance on the way to the emergency hospital! I spent 4 hours waiting there, and finally some doctors took me in, put me on a bed and ran all the tests: blood, urine, CT scan. So they sent me home with a 5-6 mm stone sitting 13 mm from the UVJ! Literally the same, and I'm glad I'm pain-free with normal urine flow too. But mentally it's so frustrating. I just hope this is over ASAP. I don't want surgery because of the cost, so I'm hoping it comes out soon. I'm planning to wait 6 weeks total—if it's still there, I'll just go ahead with the operation.

If the stone isn't causing major problems—if it's not obstructing or blocking urine—I think you're safe! My urologist said if I'm not having pain, blood in urine, or grade 2-3-4 hydronephrosis... it's safe to wait and help the stone pass with lots of water daily (3-4 liters spread throughout the day), some alpha blockers like Silodosin or Tamsulosin, plus moving around!
