Finally passed this kidney stone today… but I've still got another one stuck in there.

Is it true the worst of the pain happens before it gets down to the bladder?

At the start, before the stone makes it to the bladder, there's a ton of pain — mostly in the lower back. Then once it reaches the bladder and the stone wedges into the narrow tubes, this sharp stinging pain kicks in. That's when you keep feeling the urge to pee over and over, but only 2–4 drops come out. It's like someone's stabbing you nonstop with something sharp. This kind of pain usually hits when the stone is on the bigger side.
