'possible' because they can't confirm it without another CT. doctors are assuming this is multiple stones that have travelled through my ureter and clumped together🥲i've had over 100 recorded... (never passed one naturally) & had to have so many surgeries🫩i'm exhausted and fed up !!!!

further imaging required, and possible surgery... again...

That's not just bad luck, that's a pattern screaming that something is happening. The "clumped together" thing your doctors mentioned could actually be pointing at something they might not be framing right -- biofilm. don't get me started 🥲 i have been begging for further investigations into why they keep happening, for 4 years. i have only now actually been referred to a specialist team, who i won't see til june. every time i've asked for investigation, i've just been told it's because i have a duplex kidney. i know now that that is very incorrect. a duplex kidney alone can not solve these issues. i'm on antibiotics every other month with a UTI (over exaggeration but still). i'm at such a loss. tysm for...

Woof, every other month on antibiotics is exactly that cycle I mentioned -- bacteria hiding in biofilm, antibiotics kill the free-floating stuff, then it re-emerges from inside the stone and boom, next UTI. June feels forever away but at least you've got specifics to bring to the specialist now. Push them hard on whether you've actually been tested for asymptomatic bacteriuria between UTIs, because that's the gap most urologists don't catch.

Me again.. 😉 can I just slightly amend that comment to “they may actually seed oxalate stones” - we both agreed that further research needs to be done to prove that the role is there.
