Er visit number 2 for stone pain
- Strategy
- Patient journey
So, I've been dealing with this stone that lithotripsy failed for about a month. Tried controlling it with ibuprofen and it got worse so went to the er to get checked out. Given dilaudid and zofran which helped a bunch. Ct showed stone is still in the kidney but not obstructed. Doctor was nice enough to prescribe some Norco and a muscle relaxer but it really annoyed me that he was yet another one to tell me the stone probably isn't causing me pain and it's a muscle strain. š I've done nothing strenuous and I'm hurting where the stone is but sure. So tired of not being believed. It's exhausting.

Do you have a urologist?
Currently no. Have a referral to call Monday.
That's your best bet as far as having someone in your corner who actually believes you. You'll have a 24 hour urine screening and blood work. Bring in any stones you've previously passed if you have them.
