Could a Brain Scan Have Caused My Kidney Stones?

Patient journey

**The Incident: The Tricycle Crash** It was the early morning, just after dawn mass. My wife and I were riding across the street on a tricycle when a pickup truck came barreling through and smashed right into us.

It was complete chaos. My wife shouted for help, and the Quick Response Team (QRT) showed up in no time. (Big salute to those first responders). They got me to the hospital fast.

Thankfully, my X-rays came back clear—no broken bones. But given how hard the impact was, the doctors still had to scan my brain for any hidden trauma.

The Procedure: CT Scan with Contrast This is where I believe the "glitch" probably began. To get a clear picture of my brain, the medical team did a CT Scan with Contrast, which means they inject a special dye into your veins so your blood vessels light up.

The tech gave me one strict instruction: "Drink a lot of water to flush this out."

By the grace of God, my brain turned out totally fine. No clots. I went home so grateful just to be alive. But caught up in the chaos of recovery—between the wounds, the insurance, and the trauma—I probably didn't "flush the system" as thoroughly as I figured I had.

**The "Error Logs" I Ignored** Months went by. I started getting these sharp, awful pains in my back.

**The IT Mistake:** I treated it like some minor bug. I figured, "It's just muscle pain from the accident."

**The Reality:** It was actually my kidneys crying out for help.

Sometimes the pain got so bad I couldn't even stand up. But I kept brushing off the alerts... all the way up until the blood showed up.

**The Diagnosis:** 0.4cm Crystals I finally went in to see a doctor, and one ultrasound later the verdict came back: Kidney Stones (0.4cm).

Honestly this reads like weaponized autism. And I'm autistic myself.
