PCNL & Ureteroscopy: So scared

Hello!

I have an upcoming PCNL AND ureteroscopy and I’m terribly nervous. I have only ever done lithotripsy so this is really giving me a ton of anxiety.

I do know I will have a tube and be admitted overnight. The ureteroscopy is to check a calcification noted on my CT.

The PCNL is truly the procedure that’s scaring me so badly. The entire thought of this, and the fear of having to have it done again in the future, if I develop more stones, is more than enough.

It feels so absolutely invasive and I’m scared of recovery. I have a super busy life and I’m curious the timeline of actual recovery not what the surgeon is saying. I know it varies for everyone.

I would appreciate any advice, tips, help, whatever you have.
