Got any tips or advice for taking out a stent with strings? Mine's scheduled to come out tomorrow, 48 hours after surgery, and I'm nervous.

Honestly, it didn't hurt at all for me. Just a little burn, even less than what you feel peeing with a UTI.

Don't overthink it. It won't hurt, it's just a sensation you've never felt before. I do mine in the shower. Just make sure you're positioned for one smooth pull.

I hyped it up so much in my head, but it was super easy. Just don't yank it like you're starting a lawnmower. I had a full bladder and let it slide out in a warm shower while I pulled. What I wasn't ready for was the 2 days of spasms and irritation afterwards. I made the mistake of heading out on an errand about half an hour after removing it and nearly passed out standing in line. I stayed on Oxybutynin and Azo for 2 days.
