Timeline:

\- monday, 3am: intense pain in my left flank (front, a handwide from my belly button), vomiting, went to ER. They diagnosed me with a 2 to 4mm stone and an infection in my urinary tract. After ultrasonic they said my left kidney has widened pathways and some kind of congestion due to it, I think, which they said is common for kidneystone. They did a CT too.

\- Monday to wedneyday: hospital stay, they tried flushing out the stone with lots of drinking, medication and gave me pain meds and antibiotics (for the infection). I began passing "sand", just 3 to 4 times. I began feeling better, not as tired anymore either, and they sent me home. They did another ultrasonic, said kidney pathways are still widened, but I should be good to go.

\- Thursday/Friday/ at home, taking antibiotics still. Barely ever needed pain meds, but on wiping, there was some blood on the toiletpaper. But no blood in the urine itself.Still very tired. Watched my diet closely, drank plenty of water. No "sand" in pee.

\- saturday: felt great and could finally leave my house again. Went shopping and on a short walk with my dogs. Foolishly, ate unhealthily, after watching my intake so closely before. Probably shouldn't have. No blood on toiletpaper all day. Went to bed by 6pm and slept till 2:40am.

\- sunday: woke up feeling OK, took the last dosage of the antibiotics the hospital had given me along. Drank water (sparkling tho), ate a clementine and light cottage cheese. Played one match of a video-game, which was intense. After that, I suddenly felt that sharp pain again in my flank, much like on Monday when the kidneystone brought me to ER. I took an ibuproffene. It's taken the edge off after 20 minutes, now, about 2 hours later, I don't feel much pain anymore. I also took a long hot shower to help with the pain. No blood in urine, no blood on toiletpaper.

Idk if this is normal or means I'm still not okay and must return to the hospital? Did they miss a stone? Why is it hurting again suddenly?

You could be passing a fragment from that stone. If the flank pain continues go back to ER. Ask for flomax oxybutynin and toradol so you’ll have some at home

Thank you, the pain stopped after about 2 hours after I took the ibuprofen and applied heat and has no returned the entire day. So hopefully it was indeed just a tiny fragment, although I didn't see one in my pee. I hope the pain doesn't return 😣
