How do I survive a stent with a string? Any tips?

Does anyone have advice for getting through daily life, bathroom trips, and pain relief while dealing with a stent that has the string hanging out? I'm a woman (not sure if that matters). I've got 7 more days until it comes out and I'm really struggling!!!

What pain meds did they send you home with? Toradol, Pyridium, Flomax, and oxybutynin all help with the pain.
Heating pad, Tylenol on a schedule (set alarms, even during the night), ask your doctor for muscle relaxers, heating pad, ask for anti-spasm meds (I had to try a few before finding one that worked), drink tons of water, Icy Hot/Tiger Balm, and more heating pads.
I made it through the weekend with the stent in. Monday morning I called the urologist and told them "I can't take this anymore, please take it out." They pulled it that same afternoon. After that I drank a ton of cranberry juice diluted with water. The stone passed.
