Bleeding while you still have a stent after laser lithotripsy — need input Hey everyone! Last week I had laser lithotripsy for a 6mm stone and they left a ureteral stent in. I also had another 3mm stone in my kidney that I’m not sure came out, since nobody ever confirmed it for me. I’m 5 days out now and still seeing blood in my urine off and on. Some of the time it’s pink/red, other times it’s a darker brown or orangey-yellow. I know a little bleeding is normal with a stent, but I wanted to see if anyone else dealt with this for days after their surgery. I’m getting the stent pulled this Wednesday. In case it matters, I’m female. I’m not after medical advice or a diagnosis, just curious what other people went through and what counted as normal while recovering. Thanks!

Seeing blood in your urine after surgery with the stent still in is totally normal and expected. It'll probably linger a short while even after they pull it on Wednesday. I hope that puts your mind at ease.

Yep, that's pretty normal. I still had a little blood even after my stent came out

Looks like we're on the same schedule. Getting mine taken out Wednesday too. The more I get moving, the pinker my urine turns, especially right when I wake up after being active. The Flomax for the spasms wrecks my sleep and leaves me feeling awful. .
