CT scan report says I have no stone!

About 25 days ago I got diagnosed with a kidney stone in my UVJ, but that was through ultrasound. Yesterday my urologist wanted a KUB CT scan. And the scans showed that I have no stone in my ureter, however my left ureter is mildly dilated. So does that mean the stone passed without me noticing, or was I wrongly diagnosed at the start? Because the ultrasound showed I had a 6 mm stone. On top of that, the day I got diagnosed the pain was so bad I was throwing up, but after that episode I was totally normal. I just had a similar flank pain last week and it was moderate. Now I’m back to normal again. So what should I do next, confused af😭!

Stone Fighter #55983EMay 13, 2026Yeah, 25 days is plenty of time for it to have passed. The UVJ is where the ureter meets the bladder, and the pain was probably it dropping into the bladder. Ultrasound depends a lot on the operator, so 6mm was just the biggest measurement they saw, it doesn’t mean it was round. It could have been 6mm and long. Once it was in your bladder it probably just passed easily when you went to the bathroom during normal flow.
Stone Fighter #B1A014May 14, 2026Truth is, this really sounds like you most likely passed it and never even noticed. A CT scan is far more accurate than ultrasound when it comes to ureter stones, so if the CT is now showing no stone, that’s a really good sign. The mildly dilated ureter also kinda lines up with a stone that just passed, since the ureter can stay irritated/swollen for a while even once the blockage is gone. And that first bout of severe pain + vomiting sounds VERY textbook for a stone working its way through...
