getting my stent removed

i have a stent that’s supposed to come out on tuesday. but they just told me it’s going to cost 350+ just to be seen and i dont have that kind of money. my stent does have a string, so should i just take it out myself? i’m nervous about it but i dont have that kind of cash.

No, you’d really be better off going to your urologist to get it taken out! That’s the safest bet by far

can’t go get it taken out without forking over $350.

Plenty of people pull their own out. Tons of reddit posts about it. It's scary at first but they powered through. I've read you get in a warm shower and once you start pulling gently you don't stop. I'm not a doctor and I've never had to do it myself. Sorry they're basically holding you hostage.

This right here. I've had around 10 stents and only my last 2 or 3 were the string kind, aka self removal. It's nerve wracking for sure but there's absolutely no pain.
