I don't know what to do anymore. I finally had lithotripsy for the kidney stone that's been torturing me since Thanksgiving. Well...I don't think it worked because my kidney and side is in agony a week later. Urologist won't give me anymore Percocet (which is the only thing that helps. Yes I've tried Tylenol and ibuprofen. Neither works and my pain just gets out of control and lands me in the ER.) Urologist said they can't do anything and flomax only works if stone is in ureter. So I reached out to my pcp, who told me to if urologist wouldn't help. Well, apparently her medical director won't let her since my urologist won't. And I was told to take fucking Tylenol. Tried that again and wound up in the ER in so much pain I was crying my eyes out. Was given morphine and sent home with Tramadol (which isn't doing shit). The ER doc thinks urologist or pcp should be giving me pain management. Well, they ain't. This has destroyed my quality of life. I can't work. I can barely even get out of bed or keep fluids down because pain is so intense I'm puking. I honestly feel medically neglected. I can't take much more of this. No one will help me and I'm treated like this isn't a big deal even though much of my life is just ruined.

Stone Fighter #775F1FApr 19, 2026Hi, I’m so sorry to hear this. The best advice I can give you is to find a different urologist, maybe one in a different hospital system. I get really bad pain with stones too, and they always land me in the ER (usually twice between the pain is uncontrollable). If you do end up in the ER again, I recommend asking if you can be admitted for observation. This way you can be sure your pain is under control before leaving (and with the same meds they plan on releasing you with so you can test ...
Stone Fighter #55983EApr 19, 2026I completely understand what you are going through. When I was at this point I went to a DO. He looked at everything from a new perspective. Eventually he did recommend pain management which allowed me to get through a difficult period of life. Don’t give up. You aren’t crazy. Keep looking for a doctor that actually cares and wants to solve problems.

Paranoid bc I had a 7 mm “non-obstructive” kidney stone they said they’d blast during lithotripsy, and they just didn’t…
