I have a stone a stuck in UVJ and doctor has asked me to drink not more than 1.5L a day and continue flomax.

He said fluid therapy is a traditional way and excess liquid might impact kidneys - anyone else has gotten this advice?

Its a 7.5mm stone which was apparently broken down via ESWL.

No 1.5 L sounds a bit light. 2-3 L is usually what's recommended.

There must be a reason the doctor said this. Do you have hydronephrosis? If so, could that be the reason? I honestly don’t know if it changes the fluid intake recommendation but have wondered about it. Or perhaps it’s possible you misunderstood the instruction? In any case, I would reach out to clarify, since your personal doc knows your case better than anyone on reddit.

If you have other kidney issues it might be recommended, or possible it's location. There needs to be a balance between a good load and over taxing the system. I would assume this is the reason they are saying that.
