Had my first renal colic 3 month ago. One week later 5mm stone was not seen anymore and scan was clear. Symptoms started again, is it going to happen again?

First time stone I had symptoms like burning pee/ burning uretra and lower back pain for 1 week. After that I had a renal colic, woke up with extreme pain, barely able to move, screaming in agony. Poped 20mg morphine, did nothing and popped 40mg more while taking hot showers. When I was peeing it felt like I was getting stabbed repetedly in my back. Throwed up a bit. Thought of making a ket and morphine shot but was in to much pain to cook and shot. After 4-5h of this I called ER and they send an ambulance ( every service is free in my " europoor hellhole country " ) and they got me more painkillers and gave me a CT scan saying I got obstructive renal colic and send me home. After that I had an other CT 10 days later and an urologist appointement. She told me I got reed of the store and everything was good.

Since tuesday I have flank pain, sometimes moderate sometimes 5/10 pain scale. I also have a stinging burning sensation when I pee. Just like the first time. Does my kidney made an other stone? Will I necessarily have an other renal colic?

I've been beaten the shit out ( am queer ) and stabbed but renal colic is really something. I would go everyday getting stabbed instead of renal colic. That shit is just hell. What should I do outside of asking my pcp for a new CT scan?

I have my phone charger on me at all time in case I need to go to the hospital and have 2 or 3 blisters of IR morphine sulfate on me in case I have an other episode. But even high dose morphine don't really touch the pain and it take like 1h to peak orally. Should I ask my pcp for something with a quicker onset or more effective? ( I could ask him for some oxy that I could take nasally for quicker onset or have a few points of dope on me that I could take nasally idk )

How to properly prepare for an other renal colic event?

Did you have any other stones on your original CT scan? Have you been straining your urine to catch your stone? Are you a regular user of narcotics? Have you developed tolerance to narcs? It’s nearly impossible to prepare for renal colic. You should get a good handle on your stone situation- number, size, and location.

No other stone on my CT scan. First stone was seen on a scan and the colic happened 8 month later. I do have a tolerance to narcs and get them prescribed for everyday use at lower dose ( equivalent of 10mg oxy a day ). I didn't strain the pee but didn't eard the ploke and nothing on the CT 11days later. ( 3 month ago ). So you think I should ask for another CT?

It would be unusual to make another sizable stone that quickly but it can happen. You can also have other issues causing the pain. Why are you taking narcotics chronically? Have you had your calcium level checked? Many people forming stones frequently will have multiple stones embedded in their “meat” of the kidney on the CT scan. These start out as small crystals and act like a “farm club.” How much water are you drinking daily?
